The National Auctioneers Association Meeting Brings Together a Family | GRS Auctions
When we are together, the family of auctioneers is bigger than any one of us. Over 350 industry professionals attend this year's convention in Minneapolis. Seeing and hearing live bids ring through the grand ballroom while the NAA raised nearly $200,000 for St. Judes for children was a treat.
In 2020 COVID19 brought live auction to a halt, and Auctioneers had to pivot and rethink one of the world's oldest professions. Coming together to learn, embrace technology, and the auction tradition of selling live with a smooth chant is unlike any other sales method. One of the best days at the NAA is when the competition begins competing for Champion in Men's, Women's, and the Junior Division.
When auctioneers come together, they reminisce, share, celebrate and earn the respect from one another. and honor those who went before. This group encourages creativity and stands on integrity. Today's auction firm ranges from family to corporate, and technology and social media are changing selling and marketing.
It is also important to recognize the hosts of the NAA, the Minnesota State Auctioneers Association were on deck providing apple pie and a great time. Minneapolis has had a rough go throughout 2020, but it was shining while we were there.
As the National Auctioneer's Association annual meeting and convention come to an end, it is time for many new ideas, friendships, relationships to be formed. This year there were more women auctioneers in attendance than ever before, and the networking was strong.
Being a member of the auction family is a blessing and learning from each other and the amazing programs produced at the convention is a value that is hard to calculate. NAA Auctioneers are professionals constantly honing their craft through education, networking, technology, and selling.
